Laurent Massaloux

While browsing around the endless wasteland that we call the internet I fell upon the work of French designer Laurent Massaloux and was pleasantly surprised. His designs are cool, crisp, quirky, semi functional, fresh and just a tad humorous.

Lift Off

It's about that time of year again to start hitting the slops with those funny lil things strapped to your legs. Riding down is so fun but we always dread that long cold boring lift ride up. Hopefully these creative lifts in the Alps will catch on in the rest of the world and help in warming us all up.

Flying Fountains

If you are heading to Osaka, Japan any time soon be sure to check out these hovering fountains by Japanese Designer Isamu Noguchi. These floating cube like fountains are actually held up several transparent poles that are used for support and to pump water all the way up. Pretty sweet looking huh?

Not the ShortStraw

So I met the guys from ShortStraw a few weeks back at ASR San Diego and totally loved there stuff. They have that retro 70's surfer style going on but it still have that humble grass roots feel. Their board shorts are totally what caught me though. The patterns are creative, the colors are classic and the length is just right above the knee.

World's First Private Spaceport

The just recently released conceptual plans for the World's first private spaceport have all us here at Jetlag marveling over the idea traveling to space in style. The winning design of the New Mexico Spaceport Authority by the notorious Foster & Partners is both ascetically and ecologically pleasing. Carved into the natural landscape of this particular part of New Mexico and making use of skylights and a revolutionary ventilation system Foster & Partners design is a prime example of modern design that not only looks good but functions good too. It's a great step in the right direction for the world of travel to pay close attention. Read more and see more here

I Love Lamp

Cool lighting and lamps are all to confusing to find these days. With the abundance of those little string hung halogen lights taking over any trendy room in the world it's nice to see the return of the classic "Toy Story" style desk lamp. London based designer Anthony Dickens put an new school twist on that old school favorite desk top companion.
