Paper Clip Whaaat?

Yep Yep Yep, more amazing lamps here from behind the desks of JL. Our inside man in the lamp department alerted us early on about this revolutionary master piece. We give you the PaperClip lamp developed by David Wykes and Benoit Collette. It really is simple, just an oversize paper clip with lights on it that you can bend and contour to make a lamp of your liking.

Do you believe in Magic?

So my housemate is a little different to say the least, the other night he 'naired' (if that's even a verb) his balls cause he was bored. That's isn't the point here but I was trying to give some sort of character reference, you know like people who can actually write do. Anyway I hear him listening to something out of his computer and all I hear is Style blah blah blah Mystery blah blah blah, he was listening to an audio book. That lazy bastard couldn't even be bothered reading these days. But it wasn't that which bothered me it was names that struck a chord and for those who have read it, yes read it not listened to it, those names would be very familiar as well. This is The Game, a book now infamously revered by those in the underground pick up world, yes there is an underground pickup world. Where those two names previously mentioned are the masters of this world and give you insights into how it all works in a the best way, a narrative feature. So all that rambling before could be summed up in this sentence. If you your male and you haven't had a lady friend for a while, look into this book and let it open your eyes a little. It could change your life.

Bad Halloween Costume Ideas

It's about that time again. A great night or even month (depending on what town you're in) of dressing up like a complete asshole or total slut. Halloween has to be the best holiday ever invented because not only do we get to reinvent ourselves but it's another great excuse to have a party and get absolutely "hammered drunk". Here is a few ideas of what not to wear, well actually those red white and blue spandex are pretty amazing, but the other ones are just shit... Come on guys get creative this year...

Happy Halloween all October <3 JL

Big F@cking Pools

I'm not sure why but for some reason I'm coming across loads of ridiculously big pools all of a sudden. Im not searching for them. Its not like I'm going to google and typing in "big pools", However by the look of all my posting, i might from now on. But I'm just somehow stumbling upon thees things. Maybe this is a sign I'm ment to do something with pools. Who knows. Anyways, another massive pool. This one, The Ocean Dome, is located in the Seagaia Resort in Japan. Its got a wave pool that actually looks ok, a volcano that erupts every 15 minutes, a bunch of waterslides, and stage shows that go on at night. I'm loving pools right now.

D.A.N.C.E

By now I'm sure everyone has either heard or seen Justice - D.A.N.C.E. For those living in Ethiopia or somewhere else that constricts you from being in the loop. The film clip revolves around two dudes cruising around with their t-shirt graphics changing constantly, from one funking colored design to another.Well, it didnt take long for some smart little shirt company out there to start designing these graphics for real. bountee.com has gone and made it happen. Cover you man boobs with one of em today

Killing it

When i was young, along with many other things, it was all about how big and how deep your pool was. The bigger your pool, the cooler you are, and if you had a slide or a cave or some shit, you were killing it. Well, if thats still the case today, which it is with me, the San Alfonso Del Mar Resort in Chili is absolutely ripping. it boasts the biggest pool in the world.
It's filled with about 250,000 cubic meters of salt water which, if you're wondering, is roughly equivalent to about 6,000 standard backyard pools. It cost about $1.5 billion to build and maintenance alone is about $4 million a year. This pool, alone, could probably fix Australia drought. Sick!

"Green Ferries For Blue Highways"

The Aussies are yet again doing something right in terms of ecologically friendly transportation with what should become a common sight in the Sydney harbor, The Solar Sailor ferry. These boats use a combination of both wind and solar power to transport commuters across busy waterways in ecologically style.
Designed by Robert Dane, the Solar Sailor is influenced the the evolution and motion of the insects. By having positionable solar panels that also act as sails the Solar Sailor reduces its emissions by half compared to other ferries.
Just another example of Eco-Friendly travel we should all embrace.

The video Shop kid

I used to work in a video shop when I was a kid. All my friends used to come in and get free videos. It made me pretty popular for the time I worked there. Even kids I didn't really know that well would suck up to me to get free videos, basically I was a god. This movie trailer reminds of the good old days slaving away at the vid shop and yeah I know this is the second Gondry post in as many weeks but its worth it. This is his new full length after his latest warped effort science for sleep, Be kind rewind yet this time round he scored some big names namely Jack Black, Mos Def and Danny Glover. I'd be surprised if you've even read this far down, just go ahead and watch the trailer.

Nice guys finish where?

So I saw this friend of mine I had't seen since high school and we had the obligitory what have you been up to convo and all that goes along with not seeing someone for like 7 years. Its a hard task to sum up 7 years of your life in a couple of sentences, so I the conversation usually goes along the lines of ' what have you been up to? not much, you? yeah not much' But this particular reunion garnered much better results. This mate of mine told me about a little book called 'I hope they serve beer in Hell' by Tucker Max and said it reminded him of me. I didn't know at the point if it was a complement or not. Ive read this now and let me tell you it ain't no complement, this Tucker max guy is one bad kid. Yet he's the best bad dude Ive ever read about, there are some amazing stories in here that range from drinking to sex and back to drinking. Pick this up for your next long haul flight and it will have you drinking JD's on the plane like they were water.

London's Double Deckers Now Green

The iconic red double decker London bus will now be more environmentally friendly running on diesel electric hybrid engines. Transport London, the agency for public transport in England, launched the first one of these hybrids on route 141 in London back in March and it has been a huge success traveling the same distance using less fuel than their all diesel counterparts. Hopefully these green machines will be present all over London and the world in years to come.

Creativity on the next level

I'm not even going to pretend I'm the first person to post this up on blog. I've seen it on three other blogs so far and I'm sure there are a whole lot more out there. Yet it is needless to say that this it's still amazing. Michael Gondry's first real commercial outlet is this new motorola tv commercial and what he brings to advertising is something pretty special. These are some serious special effects, so please don't watch this if you just dropped a tab of acid, you wont come out the same way you went in.

Now this dude is good at what he does. I don't think it is ever gonna get him hot chicks, notice I said hot chicks. I'd say there are females out there who would be willing to hook up with this guy for tricks like this. To all those girls out there, I'm learning.

Sugar and Spice

The question is do people still give a shit about the Spice Girls? Taking that their sole show in London sold out in just 38 seconds, I'm guessing some deluded people still do. Personally I wouldn't care if all their voice boxes were eaten out in a freak rabid wolf vs spice girls accident. Actually I wish the wolf would have attacked around 10 years ago so they couldn't have made that piece of trash that got marketed as a real movie, Spiceworld. And to think were they all are now, posh is following round a soccer player who can only take free kicks, the frizzy haired one got knocked up by Eddie Murphy, Geri Halliwell is thin (thank god)and the other two could be dead for all I know. As you may have noticed I'm not their biggest fan, but I guarantee that if 2 become 1 came on the radio I could still sing all the words, oh the messed up irony.
