Not the ShortStraw

So I met the guys from ShortStraw a few weeks back at ASR San Diego and totally loved there stuff. They have that retro 70's surfer style going on but it still have that humble grass roots feel. Their board shorts are totally what caught me though. The patterns are creative, the colors are classic and the length is just right above the knee.

no skin stretched over those bones
So Ive asked a few of my friends who think they can draw and paint and the like to do some artwork for my place. So far its been about 6 months and Ive got nothing. But you know I wonder if i payed them some cash, which I don't have, would they actually get it done. Well if they got payed what super controversial Damien Hirst did, I think it would be done quicker then you could say rollerblading is actually cool. Check out Hirst's Diamond Skull that went for a world record 50 million pounds. Also check his other work here, some costly but amazing stuff.

World's First Private Spaceport

The just recently released conceptual plans for the World's first private spaceport have all us here at Jetlag marveling over the idea traveling to space in style. The winning design of the New Mexico Spaceport Authority by the notorious Foster & Partners is both ascetically and ecologically pleasing. Carved into the natural landscape of this particular part of New Mexico and making use of skylights and a revolutionary ventilation system Foster & Partners design is a prime example of modern design that not only looks good but functions good too. It's a great step in the right direction for the world of travel to pay close attention. Read more and see more here

John's back and he's pissed
Imagine being like 65 and having to do two sequels to movies that require you to look like you only leave the gym on weekends. If that was me I'd ask if anyone knew one of those old fashioned executioner type fellows with the black hoods and a massive over sized ax. Not our man Sly though, he's jumped back on the growth hormones and instead of wielding a set of red gloves, this time hes taken to high powered missiles.Hopefully though all the previous dancing around the subject you guessed it. Rambo is coming back to the big screen.
Now we only have to wait for a Stop or my Mom will shoot too

Careful What You Wish For

Just the other day i was thinking about how ridiculously lame Keanu Reeves has become over the past few years. Really, since "Speed" he has had nothing. To be fair, he wasn't all that amazing in Matrix and he kinda pissed me off always talking half whisper and half like he had just smoked a packet of cigars...not to mention other things. But it was prior "Speed" that the dude was really kicking ass. "Parenthood", "Point Break", "Babes in Toyland" and possibly the most amazing movie of all time, "Bill and Ted's". And so it seems, 2007 is the year that those two totally bogus and radically excellent dudes are going to make a comeback and finalise their pilgrimage as pure rockstars. That's right! Numero 3 in the "Bill and Ted's" saga will be ariving soon. So lock yourselves in kids cause its gonna be the ride of a lifetime.
Crowded Waves

A world record surfing attempt took placed this past Weekend in Santos Brazil. No it wasn't for the largest wave ridden or the longest barrel, it was all about how many people could surf the same wave. The event sponsor Earthwave, founded by Kahuna Surfing Academy in Cape Town South Africa, wanted to surfers to take a try at the record world wide. Over 100 people rode this little warrior in Brazil on Sunday and more attempts are to follow in the weeks coming in nine different countries, from Australia to South Africa, Portugal, Britain, the USA, Argentina, Tahiti, and Ireland. The goal of this event is to highlight the problem of climate change.

An Apple a Day Gets Steve Jobs His Pay

Just when you thought you were healthily up to speed with the latest Apple iPod technology they do it to us again. Today with the release of all new iPods and the new iPod Touch Apple literally throws any other digital music player in the rubbish bin. The iPod Shuffle got a color update, the iPod Nano is now wider, plays videos, and has more storage, and the iPod Classic (as they've named it) now holds 160 GB (Yeah that is not a typo, that's more storage than most computers) of music, videos, and photos. But Apple didn't quit there, they had to give us a whole new iPod dubbed the Touch. The touch is basically the iPhone without the phone. Literally. It has an ultra wide touch screen, cover flow music browsing and even Wi Fi internet capabilities with the Safari internet browser. None of us are going to have money for a while.

The Toothpaste Brush

All of us have one of those foldable toothbrushes that is small enough to fit in a pocket or purse but who wants to carry around a tube of toothpaste too? A few clever folks put this to thought and came up with the OHSO Marko Travel Toothbrush. The difference between this teeth cleaner is that it stores toothpaste in it’s handle so you don’t have to bring a tube of paste as well.

The airline home to one of the most pristine wildernesses on earth is taking a step in the green direction, green algae that is.
